Should You Transition from a Crib to a Floor Bed? (For Babies)

Are you a parent trying to transition your child from a cradle crib to a toddler’s bed? Well, you’re in luck! What you need is a handmade montessori bed from sites like Learning bed that can provide your son with safe surroundings and an environment that will enrich their growth and education! There is a common misconception by incredulous parents worldwide that a Montessori-style bed is unsafe and inefficient. Sadly so, it is a lingering misconception that needs desperate correction.

A Montessori-style bedroom is toddler-proof and allows your child autonomy because they are designed to be at a baby level so your child can freely access and egress the floor bed without any assistance or the need to worry from their parents. If you genuinely care about your child and you want to educate their instincts and encourage them to be independent, then you should build them a Montessori-style bedroom. Here are several benefits of transitioning from a crib to a floor bed:

Safety

Baby and Mother

A crib can be escaped, and it gives your child the impetus to try and climb the cradle, which is unsafe and needs constant supervision that will surely burn you out. This is because babies are curious creatures, and they won’t sleep because they are still curious and not tired. But floor beds are perfectly safe for babies because they can roll on and off them without worrying if the fall can injure them, unlike a crib which is not designed to be at a baby level which is dangerous if the baby managed to climb out of it.

Autonomy

Your baby will develop the innate skills instinctually to freely move in and out of their floor beds because they can. Montessori floor beds are designed to either have small baby openings or to be accessible at a crawl range to encourage your child to be independent and intuitive. According to a study, children that are given the freedom of playtime and access to toys grow up to be more creative and less prone to depression. Many working parents have been thankful for their Montessori floor beds because it allows the baby to build a good habit to rest in their bedding when they are tired from playtime without the parents having to tuck them in.

Healthy Sleep Pattern

Sleeping Child

Imagine your dog that has been left all day in the house without spending any energy-consuming activities like taking a walk in the park or playing catch. They would switch into a nocturnal mode and bark all night or run around the house making a racket. Babies are quite similar; we need to keep them entertained, and their curiosity sated so they can get a good sleep. We mustn’t disturb their natural sleeping rhythm by scheduling their sleep. It is good to let them build a healthy sleeping pattern that will allow you to sleep soundly as well.…
